Year 6/7 Transition and Open Events

Welcome to the Year 6/7 Induction section of our website.

In addition to the information that we post home and/or email we hope that you will find relevant information and useful links here to support your child’s smooth transition into The Hayling College.

In July we hold Induction Days for students joining us in September. The Induction Day will usually follow this plan:

• 9:00 – Students arrive at Hayling College – come straight here, don’t go to your primary school first! Meet by the Canteen Area. Our staff will be on hand to make sure you go to the right place.
• Assembly
• Tutor session
• Morning Break 10.40am – 11.00am
• Two lessons
• Lunch Break 1.00pm – 1.35pm – please bring your own lunch. Any free school meal pupils will need to speak to your junior school and they will provide you with a packed lunch.
• Team building activities
• End of the day 2.30pm

Dates for Induction Days 2026 will be sent to students joining us and announced on our Facebook Page and Website at a future date.

Please ‘like’ and ‘follow’ our school Facebook Hayling College page, and join the dedicated Year 7 Facebook group found in the Hayling College. It is a good way to see some of the community work that we are involved in.

We look forward to meeting all the new Year 7 pupils in due course and to working closely with parents and carers.
