The Hayling College views the safeguarding of our pupils as paramount. Helping pupils to safeguard themselves is a vital part of our work, both in and outside school.

We work closely with the following support agencies who provide a variety of facilities for children and their families.

Children and Young Persons Crisis Line 

Havant and East Hants MIND have a freephone Crisis Line for young people between the age of 11-17 years old living in the Havant area. There is also an Adults Safe Haven (over 18yrs) for out of hours crisis support.

The CYP facility provides immediate access to safe and confidential support for young people who are experiencing difficulty with their Mental Health.

Support available includes:

  • Crisis reduction
  • Healthy coping skills
  • Signposting to website and app resources

The Family Counselling Trust (FCT)

Provides early intervention for those suffering with emotional and mental health difficulties. This is specifically geared to support young people up to the age of 18 years.

The trust engages with young people who display the following:

  • Mild depression
  • Anxiety and obsessional behaviour
  • Early concerns about body image, eating and weight (which are interfering with functioning)
  • Challenging behaviours and difficulty regulating emotions
  • Being bullied, bullying others and peer group difficulties
  • School refusal or non-attendance
  • Bereavement counselling and parental break-ups
  • Mild self-harm
  • Family communications and relationship problems
  • Emotional and behaviour concerns arising from physical illness or disability
