Art

In Art the students are our customers and We recognise that as an Island school it is important to not only have the students happy and on side, but to ensure that they have success. With the ever increasing use of social media and the tight knit nature of our community, our performance, as their teacher, is under constant and immediate scrutiny. The students that attend the school are generous with their respect, when it is deserved, and critical, when they feel hard done by.  Thus, We are fortunate that the nature of the Art curriculum enables us to differentiate and, in turn, nurture our relationships with students. This differentiation allows each individual student to have access to a curriculum that can be tailored to their strengths whilst working on their weaknesses. Place this in a friendly, stimulating, non-pressurised and safe environment and the chances of success increase. With this, I hope that Art is considered a positive experience by the students.

“We use empathy in our teaching for if you understand another and they understand you. Then you

have a place where you can meet and exchange ideas.”
